WILATU #51 - sitting in my Poang

Much like Tyler Durden's friend, my apartment is page 53 of the Ikea catalog. And if there is one essential piece of Allen wrench assembled furniture, it is the Poang. It is a very comfy chair. It is positioned in my apartment conveniently in my stereo's sweet spot. It is great for reading. It is green. But if I ever want it to not be green, I can just go to Ikea and buy some new cushions. As you can see I also have the ottoman which is an essential part to the enjoyment of sitting in my Poang. You can also sit on the ottoman. I rarely trip over the ottoman, in case you were wondering. I am not sitting in my Poang as I write this. I am sitting in my Kristofer desk chair. It is blue.

You look a lot less evil in the Poang.

Don't think I didn't notice the argyles.

I bet if you were sitting on my lap in the Poang I would look a lot more evil.

(If he will be possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll I thankful, bye friend).

The best $25 I ever spent.

One of these would also make you look more evil.

Somehow, I ended up in Singapore. My bad. In Schaumburg, one of those will only run you $15.

I still think IKEA is a front for an alien invasion. They'll convert us all, one Poang at a time.

Anand,

do you have the same problem with the one arm always coming loose? I keep a set of screwdrivers at my desk to deal with it.

Chris,

At that point in time I was probably still reviewing people's suggestions for best topless scenes from a few posts ago. So maybe "Doc Hollywood."

CresceNet,

Do you work for Ikea?

Ghost,

I'm gonna need a bigger blog.

HL (#1),

My father lost his job to a chair sitting robot.

HL (#2),

Astronauts, Swedish furniture enthusiasts, Vietnam vets, and Ted Nugent are all having a nice chuckle.

Deadspot,

That would look only slightly more sinister than the plush shark.

BSUWG,

You suspect too much and must now be eliminated.

All of my furniture comes from scratch and dent sales.

Isn't the first rule of Poang that you don't talk about Poang?

Just today, I was referencing the IKEA guys who show you how NOT to assemble things. I tried to find an icon of the back hurting guy but failed.

And now I'm sad all over again, and there are tears staining my Ektorp.

BeckEye said...

Oh, I Love that chair. We had one, but it belonged to our old roommate. He took it, the bastard. Now I'm stuck with the crappy futon.

Evil Genius said...

SkyDad,

I am the guy who usually scratches and dents them.

Beth,

I am Klappsta's overinflated sense of design and function.

P@D

I am very fond of the glyphs on heavy machinery showing mangled hands and severed fingers complete with splattering blood.

I hope your Ektorp is Scotch guarded.

Beckeye,

I have taken to using Paong as a verb for the act of sitting in my Poang. One cannot, however, futon.

Is that 'Dead' magazine there? And a Rubik's Cube? And the argyle? Well!

Evil Genius said...

Dale,

That is actually my friend's zombie comic book. I was guilty of buying a Star Wars comic that same day. It was an alternate story based on what might have happened if Luke didn't blow up the Death Star. True geek.

The Rubik's cube is mine. Still working on it. And the socks are almost more of the point of the picture than the Poang.
