What I Like About the Universe, a re-introduction

Since there are a lot of new folks around here I figured it may be helpful to slap together a quick user's guide. Especially since there are a number of people under the impression that this is Red's blog. Though she had an extended spell of blogsitting and still retains the privilege of being a contributor, rest assured this blog is solely under the administration of the Evil Genius. All three of me.

Feel free to browse back through the archives or sift through the tags for some of the more regular features. Smiths lyrics and Simpsons quotes are perennial favorites. I will often go on about cosmology or quantum physics. These posts are not nearly as popular. And then of course there is the list. (That long ass non-hierarchical string of items between my profiles and my graphic blogroll. The ones I have already written about are linked on the list.)

The WILATU list stared well after the blog. "What I like about the universe" is a phrase I have long used sarcastically to illustrate that I hate everything in existence (myself included.) I have used it as a title for one of my favorite mix CD's. And I then used it for the title of my blog. (Despite the confusing domain name derived from one of my numerous self-granted titles: Rock and Roll Astronaut.) The list began as I tried very hard to prove to myself that I don't hate everything. I certainly don't hate coffee, and I most assuredly do not hate women. By re-examining the things I truly enjoy, I hoped to be able to pull myself out of a downward spiral of negativity.

It didn't work.

But it does still make for good blog fodder. So I am continuing on with the list.

It's a good list...I wish I had a list to mine every now and then.

Thank you for the refresher. I feel much better about taking my final now!

You will be grading on a curve, right?

He most assuredly does _not_ hate women.

Too bad about your downward spiral of negativity... Otherwise, you could probably also do a corresponding WIHATU (h=hate) list. Have you ever given in to the dark side and ranted negatively herein? I'll have to review the archives.

Since "Women are Evil" as your painting title would have us believe, and YOU are evil (three times over), I've got to assume that you like women just fine.

you have 3 blogging personas, so be careful, becuase 3 is an evil number... wait, you knew that already... nevermind...

Thank you very much for the re-introduction. Or, for me at least, just introduction. And god bless negativity. It's way funnier than positivity.

As I get older I find more and more stuff to dispise.

Oh, by the by, we are eyeing Chicagoland as a possible next landing spot.

Don't hate women? I don't know if I can read any further.

God Bless you for the noble work you do. This has become a reminder that I don't need to jump in front of a bus anytime soon. What I need to do is buy a gun and get one of those cool grey uniforms that all the Bond villian's minions are wearing these days. Looking forward to the post that says the Doomsday device is ready. Until then, keep up with the quotes and the magic tales you spin.

Flann: I was reading over some of the previous list items. You have made some loverly contributions. You are more than welcome to steal my idea.

SD: No, but if you see me after class we may be able to work something out. If you're open-minded that is.

Red: But I still think they are evil.

BSUWG: Things topping the WIHATU list would include Confederate flags, wife-beaters (the men, not the undershirts,)Canadians, Gen Y, mushrooms, cauliflower, and of course - myself.

GkL: I love women in a fashion akin to that in which Doc likes beer. But more on that when we get to numbers 9, 24, 32, 36, 37, 44, 72, 84, and 98.

JB: I was always led to believe that three was a magic number.

Flawless: Comedy is tragedy with a duck under its arm.

PG13: You know damn well it is my ultimate goal to be a crotchety old man, and have been doing all I can to get a head start on that. (Keep me posted on the relocation news. By blog comment if necessary, but other means are also acceptable.)

Pistols: As I stated to Red and GkL, I love women, but still think they are evil. Read at your own risk.

Doc: Though the weather machine constantly has bugs, Project: Webkin has been progressing nicely.

Nice to meet you WILAU. I do appreciate the primer because I am new here. I found you through someone's blog who was on Humor-Blogs, I think. Regardless, I enjoy Morrissey and The Smiths as well.

I enjoyed your discourse on gaydar and how the Catholic church is a great meeting place (laughs uncontrollably for a minute).

I like you, you've been added to my Google Reader.

Cardiogirl: Welcome! It seems to me I have stumbled across your blog before. I have a backlog of "links to work on" but adding me on your Google Reader gets you at least a Sleeper Agnet link. And since I have started farming out my list, be aware that you are already under consideration for #83.

YES! I'm a humble gal. I'll take #83 in a heartbeat!
